The World One Health Congress (WOHC) is the world's premier Congress to advance the One Health agenda and the 7th WOHC 2022 is hosted by SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) in Singapore!
The theme is Integrating Science, Policy and Clinical Practice: A One Health Imperative Post-COVID-19 and to capture the multifaceted One Health paradigm, the WOHC 2022 brings together five distinct tracks over 5 days: One Health Science, Pandemic Preparedness and Health Systems Resilience, Policy, Environment and Biosecurity, Impact on and Innovations in Clinical Practice, and Antimicrobial Resistance.
Yann presented the work Jia Yee and Dalong are doing (of course, with the help of the team) for the St. John’s Island Resistome (SIR) project: “The St. John’s Island Resistome (SIR) project - a tractable microcosm of antibiotic resistance transmission across One Health domains in Singapore” on culture-enriched metagenomics, which we have got some very interesting preliminary data.
The congress was filled with broad-spectrum research talks from delegates all-around the world, for example, surveillance of zoonosis diseases such as SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), One Health approach to integrated AMR surveillance and latest scientific advances on One Health.
Jia Yee, Deborah and Haripriya volunteered to help with the Congress and enjoyed the Congress! Good to have in-person conference after the pandemic (and hopefully more to come)!
