Infectious Diseases Symposium 2021

  • Tahir Foundation Building, National University of Singapore 12 Science Drive 2 Singapore 117549 Singapore (map)

Our first Infectious Diseases Symposium as a lab! Look at us in our CREW T-SHIRT!!! (Design inspired by Dr Yann’s new card game)

It certainly was good to gather (with social distancing of course!) and hear about each other’s research areas. We covered a wide range of public health issues and research methodologies, including vector control in dengue endemic settings like Singapore.

Dr Yann was the main organiser for this event, and our own lab members — Dalong and Jia Yee — also presented on Single-gene long-read sequencing using Escherichia coli illuminates strain dynamics in the human intestinal microbiome and Influence of inconsistent wastewater management on waterborne AMR spread in sub-urban Malaysia respectively.

This face-to-face interaction over good food from Tiong Bahru Bakery was much needed! :) Thank you to all our participants for staying throughout the event! We hope to have more of such gatherings soon!
